with their versions of „Eviction Songs“ – No more housing shortage!
Especially for the exhibition „VOICES/STIMMEN“ by Zorka Wollny at the Kunsthaus Dresden, the Dresden Hip Hop duo FRESH LION, consisting of rapper Persé and singer/rapper C.C.Estrés, wrote the song „Besetzt“. The beat to the song as well as the mix and master are from the young Chemnitz producer Palito.
„Who has the right to housing – We. But is the wage enough – Never.“ With artful lyrics and fresh flows, Persé and C.C.Estrés critically deal with the topic of gentrification in the song.
„Skew. Greed for profit directs the madness. Fuck tenants, this is all about having.“ From personal experiences to criticism of social structures, the two musicians take up very visually what problems come to people through gentrification processes and what social imbalances are reproduced through this.
The song will be released on 01.09.2023 on the streaming platforms of the Musiker:innen. With this small preview of the song Persé and C.C.Estrés would like to thank the artist Zorka Wollny and the Kunsthaus Dresden for the collaboration.
We are looking forward to the evening!
With „Voices / Stimmen“ the Kunsthaus Dresden presents the first solo exhibition of Zorka Wollny in Germany and opens a view into an extraordinary oeuvre: a walkable and audible soundscape between aesthetic activism, contemporary composition and feminist strategies of resistance and healing: „Let’s Make Noise, Sisters!“
