„Northeast Southwest“ transnational project of contemporary art

with local artists and partners from Beirut, Warsaw and Bihac as well as art spaces in Dresden.

The project focuses on the examination of global, political and cultural coordinate systems. Using curatorial and artistic methods, threads are spun between old and new points of orientation and future social formations. The curatorial cooperation is between the Kunsthaus Dresden, the European Center for the Arts HELLERAU, the Beirut Art Center (Beirut), the KRAK Center for Contemporary Culture and the Performing Arts Institute (Warsaw). By means of a jury decision, projects with Dresden (art) project spaces were selected for active participation in the international project.

At the same time, the project Northeast Southwest includes an exhibition crossover. The donation of the Hoffmann Collection of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungn Dresden provides the project spaces with one work each, which will be shown in the exhibition spaces of the independent scene.
